Rider Focus is a new series on Show Horses where we do a quick interview with a rider to find out a little more about what makes them tick. Our next rider is talented producer of top show horses Matt Snell.
Show Horses: Where did you learn to ride?
Matt Snell: Originally from Armidale NSW, I started riding when I was 2 years old at Pony Club
SH: Your favourite horse to date?
MS: I have a few – Royalwood concerto, Headley Park Xpectations, Mascara, Wesswood Supacaste, Alkyra Elegance.
But new stable favourite Headley Park Black Label – very excited!
SH: Your greatest personal achievement?
MS: Doing what I love – showing beautiful horses, winning at HOTY and National levels.
(Latest biggest achievement, won EA Nationals in December 2015)
SH: Where you are aiming for?
MS: Always love showing horses- but looking forward to getting a few young babies I have stashed away at mum and dads – and maybe a little bit of dressage.
SH: Your favourite photo?
MS: Champion back to back classes at NSW HOTY 2015: Open Galloway and Show Hunter Galloway Championship with Royalwood Concerto and Headley Park Xpectations
